Does Amazon Give Military Discounts?
Last Updated: March 2025
Amazon is a go-to shopping destination for military families, veterans, and active-duty service members. But does Amazon offer a military discount in 2025? Find out here.
Does Amazon Offer a Military Discount in 2025?
Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t have a year-round military discount. However, Amazon frequently runs sales throughout the year. We saw tons of products discounted ahead of Presidents’ Day last month, and its biggest sales events—Prime Day—happen in July and October.
Last year, Amazon also introduced the Big Spring Sale, a new annual sales event that wasn’t Prime-exclusive, though Prime members did get access to select exclusive deals.
Do I Have to Be a Prime Member to Shop Amazon's Big Spring Sale?
You don’t need to be a Prime member to shop the Amazon Big Spring Sale. This sales event is open to all customers. However, as seen last year, Prime members will likely get special access to select exclusive deals.
If you’re not a Prime member yet, you can join before the sale to take advantage of perks like free shipping, exclusive savings, and access to Prime Video and Prime Music—making it even easier to score the best deals.
Other Ways Military Personnel Can Save on Amazon
With a Prime membership, you get exclusive Prime Day deals, fast two-day shipping, and access to essentials that may not be available locally or at military exchanges.
Shipping & Restrictions for Military Members
Most items can be shipped to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, but there are some restrictions, including:
- Cell phones
- Computers
- Lithium batteries
- Furniture
- Outdoor living items
- Try Before You Buy products
If you experience shipping delays, you may be eligible for a refund on late deliveries.
Using Prime Video While Stationed Overseas
Prime Video is generally only available in the U.S. and U.S. territories. However, we've heard Amazon is actively working with the U.S. Military and local Internet Service Providers to expand access on international bases.
If you want to help speed up this process, Amazon recommends reaching out to the officer in charge of Internet communications at your base to request access.
Veteran-Owned Businesses
While Amazon features a bunch of veteran-owned and military spouse-owned brands, these businesses often have to pay a commission back to Amazon for every sale.
We'd prefer to link directly to these stores. Here are some noteworthy ones:
